Syberia is a third-person adventure game as you control the character of Kate Walker with your mouse and are able to interact with everything in her environment. Kate must now search for this missing heir and delve into a world filled with mystery and intrigue.

She learns that the owner of the estate has an heir that was presumed dead, but may actually be missing somewhere in Siberia. The owner of the toy factory dies shortly after Kate arrives and a straightforward assignment suddenly takes an intriguing turn. So it all relies on how good the story is and how logical the puzzles are.Kate Walker is a resourceful lawyer who is given an assignment involving closing a deal for her law firm that would allow them to gain control over a centuries-old automaton and toy company. For me adventure games are 40% puzzles (assuming they do not use moon logic), 50% story and 10% goes to everything else (as long as it works of course). And TBH i'd probably wait for that regardless of Denuvo since i'm not sure if i'd like the game or not.

It sucks that it used Denuvo though so i'd wait until it gets removed or the price drops to sandwich levels. And i don't really care much about high end graphics anyway. TBH i wouldn't mind the new stuff to be prerendered, but the realtime stuff allow for any resolution. Also as far as detail goes, this doesn't look to me any worse than the prerendered backgrounds in the original games.

Nowhere near modern AAA looks, but PS2 wont be able to do those clothes and environments (and PS3 wouldn't be able to do those shadows either). He also said "this looks like a PS2 game" that is as wrong as overused since there is no way a PS2 game would look like that, that looks closer to an end-of-life PS3 game. He disliked the controls but to me they look like classic Resident Evil controls and i do not have a problem with that (i even have a digital-only controller just for games like that, although the buffering issue might be a problem). The guy says that he is fan of the previous games and liked the story and puzzles, which is a plus. On the other hand, i looked up for some video reviews and found this. Syberia 2 didn't catch me like the first game but it was still great, however while i was playing it i heard that there is going to be a third game so i decided to stop in order to avoid ending up with a cliffhanger or something. I played Syberia 1 2-3 years ago and it rekindled my interest in adventure games (i lost interest in them around late 90s), the game was absolutely fantastic to the point i played the entire thing in two sittings (only to sleep in between) because i just couldn't stop. I'm really surprised the author complained about character tropes, but not those. The performance, autosaving, and changed controls were common complaints from all the other Syberia 3 owners. Furthermore, he also didn't criticize the lack of mouse-exclusive playing (which I didn't mind, but I know a lot of other people dislike).

Syberia 1/2 had manual saving, but 3 uses only autosave. I also forgot to mention there was one other thing the author could have brought up that I would have instantly agreed with, but I'm also surprised he didn't. I'm glad to have bought the game and I hope Microids comes out with another sequel.

#Syberia 3 for pc Pc
I suppose the reason may have been because the author's PC is vastly more powerful than mine and he hadn't noticed a performance issue.Īnyway, overall, I think Syberia 3 is vastly better than Syberia 2. On the highest settings, I average 40-50fps, but it's a rollercoaster. I meet the recommended requirements, but I simply couldn't get a consistent 60fps even on the lowest settings. The beginning location, Valsembor, feels bigger than every location in Syberia 1/2 combined.Ĭuriously, there is one complaint the author could have made I would have completely agreed with.but he didn't make at all. Everything looks better (and Kate Walker's in-game model improved greatly) and it makes the game massively more alive thanks to background characters' interaction and much larger location. The graphics? Basically a huge improvement. The gameplay can get a little clunky, but the improved puzzle mechanics does a lot for the game.
#Syberia 3 for pc series
the story elements that became associated with the series over the years, but nonetheless, it is a great addition to the series. I felt S3 lacks a lot of the Syberia 'culture', i.e. Surprisingly, I disagree almost with every point of contention the author raises, and especially when he gives it a 3/10 rating. I thought Syberia 3 was a fantastic game. The article's view seems to be overwhelmingly negative, but I disagree. As a long time fan, I, of course, compare it to its predecessors too. I bought Syberia 3 on launch day and just recently beat it.
